Fall is a lovely time to remember beloved family...

I have awakened this day missing my mother:( so many things I still wish to ask her about or just laugh about or just set together and "be"...we each have our loses and must carry the memories I know.

Tasha Tudor was one of my favorite "real" ladies and I mourned her passing last year.  For anyone who loved her and missed this awesome video it will be here on my blog for your viewing. I love listening to the beautiful speaking voice of the Japanese lady who visited Tasha and filmed her.

Usually, I do a morning therapy called 'morning pages' and I haven't been doing that so I know I haven't been releasing my thoughts but holding them in; I think that is missing and today I will do it...usually the three pages are written first thing when those feelings come right out onto the paper. James Cameron visualized his dream of directing TITANIC as he was doing his morning pages therapy. My dreams are not for anything that wonderful to share with the world ....but it is amazing the things that your heart passes through your hand to the written page:)

Hope you find a chance to view this lovely video, Tasha Tudor you tube video/

  2. I was sad too when we lost Tasha, I have a lot of her books. Her maiden name was Burgess and so was mine, often wondered if we were related.Enjoyed the vidio.
Had a hard freeze here last night, the leaves are falling like rain, looks pretty. I have the fireplace going today.

  4. Nancy Jo, Burgess, maybe you could check into it:)
    That would be so awesome.

OH, it is still warm here in VA, but I am so longing for some fireplace weather; falling leaves are always pretty too!
Today, I have felt chilly so I baked an all day easy bread in a cast iron dutch oven...so yummy.
I'm loving those aprons dancing on your clothesline.

  6. Gail, what is 'morning pages'? I may have to google that. I am off to watch the Tasha Tudor video. I often wish to live that simple lifestyle even though my life is pretty simple. At least I think so. Perhaps boring....

  7. Julia Cameron, sister of James Cameron, had hit bottom of her life...long story, but she gathered herself UP from writing 3 full pages first thing in the a.m. let the thoughts flow onto the pages in a large composition book(I use the old black and white ones) Psychologists have been using this simple method successfully for years from Her book, The Artists Way, which she describes fully.
No one is to view your dated 3 pages...they are YOUR personal thoughts that just come flowing as you write...very early remember when the mind is freshly cluttered LOL it really helped me a few years ago...but, I still do it. Save these books of Morning Pages tied with a large ribbon...or, discard but I keep to re-read sometimes to see how I have moved on, etc. The big thing is, no inhibition as you write exactly what wants to flow out...that is why they are yours only.I even have daily lists on most of mine:)
Hope I didn't bore you too much:)
